Fujitsu
Fujitsu’s entry into the laptop market is the Lifebook, a model with eight different types, each focused on a different aspect of portable computing. They range from the P Series, an ultrathin fully-functioning notebook, to the N Series, which is an advanced computing system that combines power with Intel’s Centrino Mobile Technology for a longer lasting battery. The main thing that Fujitsu seems to focus on in its laptop design is weight. With a weight of 1.86 kg (2.87 pounds), Fujitsu’s Lifebook P is one of the lightest laptops on the market. Fujitsu computer laptops are generally very slim, with a modular design that separates many of the peripherals that are included inside the case of other brands, such as DVD drives, and instead offers them as add-ons that one plugs into a port. |

Fujitsu notebook computers also have some interesting accessibility features that one generally doesn’t see in competing laptops. In keeping with the lightness theme, The Lifebook B Series comes with a touchscreen, so that the user doesn’t have to lug a mouse around with the notebook. By using a stylus or a fingertip, the user can navigate through any of the applications normally accessed via mouse or nub.
The T Series notebook doubles as a tablet PC with its LCD screen that detaches and swivels around to sit on top of the rest of the machine. A touchscreen also graces this Fujitsu laptop to make the user more productive in mobile situations, since data can be input via the keyboard or through handwriting. The L Series Lifebook is a truly unique notebook, as the screen is mounted directly onto the CPU section of the case, and not as a separate unit that angles up. A small detachable keyboard is attached to the case by a hinge, making for a highly portable, extremely light laptop. The L Series is currently available in Korea only. Lifebooks are available at many leading electronics retailers, or online at Fujitsu’s website. Also, one can often find discounts on used Fujitsu laptops at auction and classified sites. These places are also great for finding cheap components or parts, like if your Fujitsu laptop needs a screen replacement. |
