Laptop Brands
Choosing the best laptop brand for you is a very important step when buying a new computer, as odds are you will be stuck with this computer for several years, unless you have money to burn on new computers all the time. So you’d better pick one that is a good fit. The first thing you need to look for in a notebook brand is what kind of internal components are available in each model. You want a laptop that has a fast enough processor and enough memory to handle the applications that you would like to use, while also having a large enough hard drive to hold your desired apps and hard drive. Modern day operating systems hold many gigabytes of information, so it will have to be at least that big for you to have enough free space on your laptop for your programs and documents. |

But all of that speed and space can come with a price. The better the laptop’s internal parts, the higher the price will be, so you need a brand that gives you enough power and performance but doesn’t jack up the price too much. If all you will be doing is surfing the web with your browser and writing documents in a word processor, then a cheap discount laptop brand might do fine, as you don’t need a huge amount of performance for those tasks. But if you will be doing some heavy-duty image processing or programming, then you should not buy a cheap notebook brand, and instead opt for a brand that offers more performance, perhaps at the expense of price.
Another factor that differentiates laptop brands is weight. Some brands offer lots of peripherals such as DVD burners, Zip drives, and huge screens, but they are so heavy that it’s uncomfortable to carry them around, especially if you are taking a flight somewhere. But other laptop brands’ offerings are thin, yet don’t have the essential peripherals such as the ones mentioned above. It’s all a matter of personal preference, so you should choose a brand that is light enough that you won’t have trouble carrying it around, while still containing the desired add-ons, like CD or DVD drives. |
